The End of an Era: Taylor Swift Documentary

I cried 3 minutes in! It’s so incredible to watch the team of dedicated staff and crew that brought their A game to a tour that touched 10 million people!

It was really sobering to think that she had to meet with the families who lost children due to terrorism and then psych herself up for a fun show. I don't know how she does it.

I liked how much she showcased the people around her. I can't wait for the next set.

Yes. The highlight seemed to be the profile of the dancer and his mother - from my instagram feed people loved that.

I would love to watch this but don't have Disney+. Maybe time for a free trial?

I have so much respect for headliners who direct the spotlight to the artists behind them who work their butts off. They typically get little pay and little thanks. So nice to see they had a different experience on this tour.

She is - by all accounts - a very generous person, and not just monetarily (though that too, of course).

+1 such a shame the name Madonna was already taken and besmirched by a different pop star

What a leader she is. A master class in that, IMO. Great person all the way around. Can you even imagine what it's like to always have to be "on" with everyone around you? I'm exhausted thinking about her life, yet she seems to just move through the world in a kind, hard-working, creative way. Good on her.

The Oprah Winfey of pop music. Everything is framed to be about how wonderful and generous she is but the point os really that she is better than everyone. People got sick of Oprah's self centered talk show after about 20 years and people will eventually get sick of tour documentaries with the central theme "Look how amazing snd generous i am."

People who are truly generous do not constantly have to advertise it as an ego and publicity boost.

I LOVED the 2nd episode especially. It was cool hearing from some of her backup dancers esp of course Kam. And the development of the Florence/Florida part of the set was so funny! Ah, just love it.

The PR is carefully crafted to give the impression of generosity.

The documentary is all about the tour itself, not about how generous she is. Watch it or don’t, no one cares.

I kinda side eye filming the bonuses, but it's actual real money that she actually gave which is better than not including it because she didn't give it!

The point is that there is an ego element in putting the bonuses in the film because then Taylor giving bonuses becomes a story. Plenty of celebrities give stuff without telling anyone, She could have given it without filming it but that would not get as much publicity. There is always a PR angle.
