| I am directing money to TSP Roth for the first time and not sure I'm doing it correctly. I finally found the Start Roth button on the EPP page. Do I have the total amount of my contributions in the current TSP contributions table and then a portion of that gets entered into the Roth table? Or is the total contributions for just traditional and the roth just for roth. So, if I have 1000 in TSP contributions and 500 in Roth, am I contributing a total of 1000 (half in roth) or a total of 1500 (1/3 in roth)? I could not find instructions, just the table with amounts to fill in. Thank you! |
| You should be able to specify in Employee Express by dollar amount what you want to contribute to traditional TSP and to Roth TSP. All agency matching will be placed in traditional TSP |
| Setting it up in Employee Express is confusing me. Can someone explain it to me? |
Sign into Employee Express. Look at menu options on left side of screen. Choose TSP/Roth option. Then enter $ value or percentage of pay you wish to contribute to each. |
| They're separate so if you want to do 1500 you would put 1000 in TSP and 500 in Roth. Basically, my understanding is when they say TSP, they meant traditional. |
TSP = traditional is exactly what I found so confusing, since it’s all going into TSP. Thank you! |
