Bright Horizons Closing Certain Centers in DC Area

Anonymous
Does anyone know what centers are closing? I heard they are closing a number of centers in the area. I saw Bethesda and one in Arlington.

Bump. We use a Bright Horizons and enrollment is way down from previous years. Any corporate statements on these closures? Should we be worried that we are next?

What are the workers paid? Minimum wage?

I don't typically ask the teachers how much money they make when I pick my kid up and discuss whether or not all of his pee got in the toilet today. (spoiler alert... it did not)

When I worked there 7 years ago I was 13$ as an assistant teacher. Teachers made 15-16$

BH Centers in DC follow the DCEC Pay Equity minimums, which have just been lowered:

Assistant with a CDA=23.43/hour
Teacher with a AA=29.17/hour
Teacher with a BA=34.14/hour

I saw on Reddit that BH closed 20 centers in the East Coast. 6 were in the DC area.

They had horrible turnover and could not keep up enrollment and preschool and quality. We moved our kids to a Goddard School just a little past the DC border. Wish we would have done it sooner.
