For those who have trusts set up for their kids, at what age do your kids become their own trustee?

Money is released in increments starting at age 25. They don’t get the bulk of the estate until 40s. There are exceptions made for education and housing. Over $25 million estate.

For one kid we had increments of thirds starting at 25, but once kid hit 20 we rethought that plan and made it start at 30. An uncle is the trustee before then. Assuming we don't change it, it would be totally payed out at 40.

The other kid has autism and we set up a special needs trust. He will never be trustee, just because he is way too vulnerable to manipulation. Right now an uncle or an aunt would be trustee, though maybe one day we will change it to be his brother. Don't want to make their relationship weird, though.
