UM-stamps vs VCUarts

Anonymous
Our daughter applied to both and just received her acceptance into VCUarts. Assuming she gets into UM-stamps interested in pros and cons for each school. She is interested in illustration. We are OOS for both schools with family in both areas. She’s a well rounded high stats student from a public high school in the Midwest.

FWIW, my daughter, who is a visual arts person, has Stamps near the top of her list and decided not to apply to VCU, though she does respect that program. I like that she could get a joint BA/BFA from Michigan, which more rigorous/prestige from the Michigan BA than the VCU.

Congrats on both acceptances! Has she visited the two campuses? They have very different vibes. VCU is more urban and integrated into Richmond. UMD is more suburban though students have easy access to DC (I personally don’t find College Park all that appealing in terms of location for college).

UM-Stamps refers to Michigan, not Maryland
