So I've done the reverse commute from DC to McLean for 2 decades.
I don't get why I-66 is so slow in the mornings from Arlington until the Fairfax line, and then in the afternoon until the WL parking deck where traffic mysteriously starts moving? (and I come home at 3:30pm, not at rush hour). It never used to be this bad. |
| It's just volume. Lots of folks on a reverse commute these days. |
| because of idiots |
| Idk how accurate but my husband said a lot of people back tracking to use 495 |
| Weird: right now the inbound 66 inside the beltway looks worse than outbound (on GoogleMaps) — what gives? |

aside from the pandemic, it's always been bad - for decades
and it's worse than the commute into DC because there is no toll |
Accident near or on Roosevelt Bridge per WTOP. |
I sometimes drive into DC between 2 & 3 PM to pick DC up from school, and it is routinely worse inbound that outbound at that time. I have no earthly idea why, but it is common. |
