Post surgery gift - lighthearted

Anonymous
A friend of mine who has a very good sense of humor, is getting a tummy tuck. I'd like to put together a little get well gift bag, but keep it lighthearted. She's not really a tea, face mask, etc. kind of girl. But I think putting in some stool softeners, snacks, and...?? Any ideas to give her a giggle but still be useful?

Would she really appreciate a gift bag of snacks after a tummy tuck? Seems kind of rude honestly.

I’d just get her a few books and a get well card

How about a nice candle and fun book?

I think this is a great idea, OP! And I think snacks are okay. She’s going to have to eat and prioritize nutrition after a big surgery like that. I would send some high protein snacks. I’m not sure what else but must wanted to counter what the PPs said (and I plan to get a tummy tuck at some point).

That doesn't sound funny.

Did you Google something like "tummy tuck get well gift"?

I am not a candle person. I would not want one. (The scents always give me headaches.... and then they become a dust-collecting item in my house.)

I don't know what sort of food you can or can't eat following one. (So is high protein snack OK? I have no idea.)

maybe a romantic comedy or other chick lit that is 100% lighthearted? Sophie Kinsella (RIP) was always great at this genre. The Undomestic Goddess, My Not-So-Perfect Life and I've Got Your Number are probably my 3 favorites by her.

I actually had a TT last year and did one of these during recovery- it was absorbing and fun and it was the perfect way to pass the down time. Pink Picasso Kits Botanical... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YCXLTNM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Protein shakes? My mom had several plastic surgeries, and her doctor was all in on the need to go heavy on the protein to help with the skin healing. Hers wasn't a TT nor cosmetic, but likely still relevant. She liked the Fairlife ones, which are a little hard to find, but good and not too sweet.

Great idea! I was going to suggest adult coloring books.
