Cheap Paint Shop

I have three of "cannot be ignored" dings on my lexus sedan that needs to be cleaned up and painted. One from pulling out of a tight parking lot (kid did this) - front right bumper, paint transfer and scratches, a smaller scratch that wife caused that's now showing rust (a bit old, obv), and a third ding on the same side to the rear bumper with paint transfer/scratch. Insurance will cost me 3 deductibles and an increase in rate so I'd like to get it cleaned up and painted at a good, reasonably priced shop outside of Insurance. Any recommendations in NoVA?

What’s your goal here? Are you trying to repair the damage and make the car look like new? Or are you looking to clean up the scratches and rust and make a repair so the car looks ok and damage doesn’t worsen?

If you are trying to make the car look new again, any good body shop can do this. It will be more expensive though.

If you are trying to do a “good enough” repair, you can try a detailer or even DIY. Use a good auto paint polish and buy the touch up paint from Lexus for your car. Some touch up pens even come with a tip of ‘sandpaper’ that will clean and remove rust from scratches. This will clean and protect your paint but you will see the repair if you look hard enough.

Thanks! It's a 15 year old car, so don't want to spend my money on it. Can you recommend any specific products or links? I'd like to give it a shot myself before I go to a detailer..
