Was this a hot flash?

Anonymous
I was feeling weird and warm, and my daughter told me I felt really hot when kissing her goodnight. I had to take off my fleece sweater, and I started to have a panic attack, with thumping heart and everything. And 30 minutes later, I'm feeling much calmer (and colder, which is a relief).

Was this a hot flash? Usually I'm always so cold in the evening.

I'm 45, BTW.

Sounds like one.

I’ve always heard you burn from the inside out with a hot flash. Did you feel that? Like a fire was inside you pushing out?

Well I certainly felt hot, and my cheeks were burning up, and I wanted to tear off my clothes, but the most uncomfortable feeling was the panic.

I get panic and a fast heart rate with my hot flashes. I also feel like I have a fever, so it’s not like walking into a cool place even helps. The heat is inside of me. I can be hot in the inside and cold in the outside.

Sounds like you had one to me.

For me, it’s like a fire inside and it’s almost always in my chest

I just feel warm and they are usually at night. But the weird thing is that I wake up before I start having it. Like, my body wants me to wake up first so I can experience the whole thing start to finish.

Me too! I live in Maa and it’s been so cold here that honestly when I wake up I’m happy I’m going to be warm. Then I sweat and get chilly and add another blanket and go back to sleep.

For me it’s not like a fever at all. For fevers my body’s just aches and I get chills and my teeth chatter.

That’s how I experience them too. I also get a bit nauseous.

OP here.

Thanks! Yesterday was the second day of my period, and a particularly heavy day too.

Can hot flashes arrive at any time in the cycle?

It's nice that we've got DCUM to talk about these things. Makes me feel less alone
