What kind of afterschool activities are your kids in?

In K only 2 per week. Swim and dance.

In 5th she did something most weekdays. Depends on age and if they are home right from school or in daycare until 6pm. Mine was home after school either with me or a sitter ( sitter was twice a week) so I liked having things for her to do.

First grader goes to aftercare, but also does an activity at school almost everyday: soccer, karate, pottery, cooking and dance. Theatre on the weekend.

What age?

In K my kid did a rec sport and that was it.

In 1st, my kid did rec sport and Scouts and a few after school activities at the school that they liked. Chess, robotics, LEGO club type thing. They were an hour long, one day a week and inexpensive.

In 3rd grade we added math competition class to rec sport and Scouts and a few after school activities at the school.

My kindergartener took a sewing class after school at her parochial this fall and loved it (my wife likes to sew, so it gave them something to do together). She is going to get involved in the school musical in the Winter/Spring, and we're going to start violin lessons soon.

Tennis only in warmer weather. Piano and scouts year round. Sometimes we add a yoga class etc.
