Hey,
Just had my car wrapped. Went from white to black. I was reading the color change needs to be reported to the DMV. One site says it needs to be reported when your registration in up for renewal which is next year for me. The VA DMV are does not have any info or link to forms on this? Just want to make sure that if I get pulled over, there is not an angry cop to get me because the registration they pulled shows the wrong color. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks. |
| Never heard of this. But your car’s VIN remains the same. |

The issue is that if you get pulled over and your tag ran it will say the tag returns to a white 2022 ford explorer. The cop will see your veh is a black ford explorer and question whether it’s the right tag.
Obviously you can explain the situation and probably be fine, but it’s a headache for you and the vop. MD tags don’t show a color on the mva return but VA tags do. |
| "I had it wrapped". It's pretty common nowadays, if it's an expensive car in Nova/DC/Moco I guarantee you there will be zero issues. |
Nobody is getting a 2022 Ford Explorer wrapped. At that point the wrap film itself is worth probably 25-35% of the car. On this website and in this area it's most likely a Range Rover or a high end Mercedes or BMW. |
