under desk exercise equipment

Does anyone have recommendations for under desk exercise equipment (elliptical or bike?)? Are they useful and/or effective? I don't have a standing desk so can you really just sit and use an under desk elliptical?

My sister has this one and loves it -- she says that her legs are sore by the end of the day, and she can use it even on video calls w/o looking funky -- Cubii JR1, Under Desk Elliptical, Under Desk Bike Pedal Exerciser

Good to know. I had that question as to whether someone might look funny while using equipment. Thanks for the recommendation.

I got my parents the cubi. Their PT people have said they think it’s great. I don’t think it’s an aerobic workout at all but it is good for keeping circulation and avoiding muscle atrophy or loss of flexibility. One downside is that it’s pretty heavy so you don’t want to be moving it around all the time.

that's helpful - thanks. I need something a little more mobile I think. also good to know it's not great for exercise but it is for circulation. I wonder if there are some that have levels of tension that can be adjusted. Or maybe this one does...?

It definitely can be adjusted, and I think you get some level of exercise from it. But you're just not really going to get your heart rate up with something where you're sitting and just moving the lower parts of your legs. I'm sure it's better for your heart than just sitting and doing nothing, but it's not like riding an exercise bicycle or doing a real elliptical.
