Beauvoir Pre-K

We’re interested in sending our kid to BVR and want to apply for their Pre-K entry year. I know it is a larger entry class but also lot of siblings slots, etc and competitive.

Is there really such a thing as a “feeder” to pre-K? It seems crazy to say out loud especially from my original Midwest roots. I realize there are certain daycares/Pre-k3 schools that send higher numbers to BVR but there is also some self-selection in that group. Is it more a signaling effect around being able to afford tuition at BVR?

The daycare “feeder” to BVR, if there is one, is NCRC.

FWIW, our kid went to a charter school in DC for PK3 and was accepted to Beauvoir.

We are at Beauvoir now and were at DCPS. There are a lot of kids from Metropolitan, NCRC and St. Columba's but there are a lot of kids who haven't gone there. I think it helped us get in - Beauvoir doesn't want to take every kid from a single daycare / prek program.

Lots of kids from NCRC and Little Folks. My kids went to NCRC.

Little Folks has always been a top feeder.

lol! Feeder for pre-K

You’ve got to be kidding me. Our kid when to our church preschool 2 half days a week and stayed with our nanny the rest of the time.

There were lots from the above mentioned preschools along with individuals from a wide variety of other preschools. We were at a federal daycare and met families with kids from international org daycares, language focused daycares, and religious focused daycares. I wouldn’t let the feeder daycares deter you if you feel it’s a good fit for your family.
