GLP-1s and dating market

Anonymous
Given that so many people are on GLPs now and losing weight, is the dating market going to be even more competitive in the future? There will be more good looking people once they lose the weight and they will be going after other beautiful people. Are people going to be pressed to try even harder or be doomed to be forever lonely?

I posted the one a few weeks ago. This post isn’t mine.

Losing weight doesn't make you automatically attractive.

Yes, OP.

Logically no. Physical standards will go up for everyone and people will still be judged on their status relative to others on the market. If everyone's fat, the thinnest/most desirable fat people will be selected. If everyone's thin, the most attractive/desirable people will be selected. The equation doesn't change.

Not for women. Women are looking for peace and quiet.

Women are not losing weight to look better for men. Women are losing weight so that they can not die of heart disease and can spend more time, actively with their grandchildren and their friends playing pickle ball, golf, and yoga.

The GLP – 1 phenomenon has nothing to do with dating or men. It’s about health..

+1 it also doesn’t change your personality.

Ugh. These 40-50 something women that think they look great after going on glp-1 do not. It’s not what men like.

It was striking in my hot yoga class. The older women were skeletors- skin and bones. It made them look ancient and shriveled. While the other with some roundness looked so fresh and healthy.

I’m 55. I was always an athlete. I’ve had the athletic fit look. I’d rather carry 5-10 pounds and not look like a brittle 85-year old woman. But, seriously my 82-year old mother looks better than some of these women that wasted away.

We have a new eating disorder epidemic with this stuff.

No man likes that skin and bones look.

I am in a house of men-college sons, spouse. They all cringe at that super skinny thing.

I am also in a house of men. Mine prefer the super skinny look.

I was super skinny until my mid 20s. Then I was just slim. The amount of attention I received when I gained some weight was incredible. I’m sure there are men who prefer the super skinny look; there are men who prefer women who are heavy. But probably not the average.

GLPs don't make you a size 0 all of a sudden.
I'm on one and have been for a while. I'm still 173lbs.

They are gay or non-alpha. Twig and bones is not what most normal men like.
