I just want to know if something like this exists in the US
Let's say you failed a class or never took it, is it possible to sign up for one exam to cover the entire class? I'm talking strictly High school classes |
|
You mean to test out?
Can you take an AP exam without taking the class? Otherwise I think you are looking at a GRE, which is testing equivalent of a high school diploma. |
In my country it’s called to ”test out” yes. So basically let’s say I didn’t take a math class in my senior year. But I want the credit. Do I need to retake the entire class? Or is there one exam for the class to cover the entire subject and give me a grade in the class |
| What do you want the credit for? |
Sorry I meant GED. GRE is something for graduate school matriculation. |
For what purpose? To get a diploma? You have to take the class and get the credit. |
Kids can sign up for summer school, which is a condensed version of the class and then a final exam. I don't think they can skip all instruction though. |
| You should look into CLEP exams: https://clep.collegeboard.org |
I don't understand. Unless you are talking about someone who is just trying to get their high school diploma and never took the classes or failed, they can take the GED prep and GED exams that substitute for a high school diploma. |
| Credit by exam or credit by assessment, but in the schools I know of, it's only for the world language requirements. |
