Best EV charger?

We need to buy an EV charger for our new Mercedes. Which one do you all recommend? Tia

I think they are all fine ie the same. I’ve had a juicebox and another and function is identical. Consider if you want to hardwire or plug into a 220 outlet. You can take the plug in ones with you if you move.

Check this site for the best advice:

I recommend an Emporia, either the Pro or 48-Amp depending on your needs. I have a ChargePoint Homeflex and I think it is very good but ChargePoints tend to have their wifi die. Luckily they replace them under warranty, but that gets to be old.

Consider whether you need two-way charging that allows you to power your house in a power outage. If so, you will need something different.

I don’t think either is unsafe assuming installation by a licensed electrician. You can change out the plug type more easily in the future.

Probably the leading cause of fires is plugs overheating. But that can be prevented by using one of the EV-specific plugs. Hardwired allows you to charge at higher watts.

This is a good YouTube vlog about EVs and charging. Helpful.

If I were buying today, I'd hardwire one of the Tesla Universal ones - supports circuits from 15a to 60a, easily able to handle any vehicle with NACS or J1772 plugs, and has a decently long cord.

Sadly this is correct. Tesla Universal is by far the best no matter your opinion of Tesla.

This applies only to the chargers and not the cars.
