| My mother asked that I make a dish for her birthday that I always make with fresh pesto. Any suggestions for where I can get a big basil plant now? Or does costco sell big bags of basil? TIA for any suggestions. (and yes, I could just get a jar of it somewhere but she really likes the fresh pesto). |
| Giant |
| Wegmans has big boxes of fresh basil. They may even have the plants. |
| Lotte (or any international grocery store) has huge bunches of various types of basil. It’s really inexpensive too. |
| Personally i’d check the grocery store. |
Yep, that’s where I buy mine. Whole plants are usually $5. |
| Giant usually has both cut and the plants |
| Trader Joe’s has amazing basil plants. |

trader joes sells big bundles of basil
|
| Whole Foods has basil plants in bags in the produce section. Just strip the leaves. I freeze them and they crumble, no chopping. |

Is basil even sold in lots? I thought it was sold in bunches? |
Haha. I meant a LOT of basil - like 8 ounces. Usually I can buy a 4 oz bag at the farmers market in the summer for $10 but that isn't an option now. My giant has not had any basil other than the very tiny containers. I will try wegmans, thanks for the suggestion. |
Lol |
You cast lots for it, like the Romans did Jesus’ clothes…. |
