| Roughly what's the % of incoming freshmen who would be out of state and international? |
|
Per College Navigator, GT is 56% in-state
Rice is 36% Public schools are always going to have a lot of in-state students. https://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/?q=rice&s=all&id=227757#enrolmt |
| Look up the Common Data Set for each school. A public and private will have significantly different percentages. |
| Rice is much smaller. Not that many OOS kids they can take. |
And private.... |
| Ga Tech is public so obviously has a higher instate percentage. Rice less so. |
|
Texas is a giant state with 32 million people.
Like California, there are tons of very smart students within the state. Nearly 40 percent of all Stanford students come from within California. However, I do think Rice is trying to become more national so their ratios will likely change. I think it's about 400 students from Texas presently. And like every school, anyone from North Dakota or Wyoming with the stats is going to get a serious look. |
You can look it up |
|
OP, as mentioned above, Georgia Tech is public, whereas Rice is private. Publics are designed to serve their state residents and so would have a larger % in-state.
You can see enrollment statistics, including in-state vs out of state, at College Navigator https://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/?q=rice&s=all&id=227757 https://nces.ed.gov/collegenavigator/?q=georgia+tech&s=all&id=139755 |
