Aerospace engineering, etc? I am talking about the kids from the immigrants families whose parents are the first generation coming to USA. Will there be too many restrictions for them? Any opinion?

No. Don't worry about restrictions but even getting an interview is extremely difficult if you are from immigrants families.

How do interviewers know the applicant’s background from resume?

If the kids are US citizens, they will be as competitive for jobs as anyone else. If they aren't citizens, it will be harder to get security clearance.

Restrictions? What do you mean? First generation in college admissions means the first generation to go to college, regardless of whether the parent went to college is in the US or abroad.
