I need to find a surgeon that can correct a small congenital anomaly in a teen's face. The doctor at birth said to wait until teen years and then he thought it would be an outpatient procedure. Googling seems to suggest that it involves some cutting and stretching, etc., so want someone that will do a decent job. Since it's a cosmetic issue, not medical, I assume we'll have to pay out of pocket, so at least I don't have to worry about in-network or out.
Thanks for any suggestions! |
| You should meet with several, and ask your dermatologist who they’d recommend for facial plastics. I will recommend Dr Bruno in Chevy Chase, but mine was not for facial plastic surgery. |
| Stephen Baker at Georgetown. |
| Second Stephen Baker |
| The sockpuppets on this website aren't very bright. |
| How can anyone make a rec without knowing the procedure or specific body parts. |
What makes you think there is sock puppeting? The actual issue is pretty rare, according to google, so I don't think posting the actual issue will be helpful to people making recommendations. I hadn't thought about asking at the dermatologist office -- that is a good suggestion. |
But what area? Eyes, nose, neck, face, concerned about scarring? Like how is anyone supposed to offer any meaningful input? |
| Can’t speak to Stephen Baker for youth, but he was great for cutting out a precancerous slash cancerous mole on my face with minimal scarring. |
| Another Baker fan- he's great with teens. I'm a pediatrician and have referred many patients to him and all have been happy with results. |
