I have a cute light cream mini settee that's been highly stained, food, coffee, who knows. I have scrubbed it with oxy stain remover, heavy duty upholstery cleaners- nothing budges these stains.
Recovering would be a fortune, I would pitch this before spending that kind of money. However, what about a fabric paint? I mean it sounds gross, but I see the stuff available and it looks doable. I would do either a blue or a darker beige several hues darker to cover the stains. The settee is very clean now, just visible stains. |
| why not a cover? |

I don't know much about fabric paint - won't it wrinkle and flake off over time, since the area you're painting is a high-use one?
|
Yeah, I have no idea. But the new fabric paints I've been reading about don’t do that they claim. |
Well, you could always try, OP, since the alternative is to throw it out anyway. |
Hoping someone has done this- what to use, results, etc. But, yep, next stop is landfill. |
| If it’s a very small settee, you might be able to have it recovered for under 800 including fabric. |
| What about a slipcover? Does it have a back? Like loveseat-sized? |
Very tiny. Curved round back. I would have to make it myself, and I guess I could try. Purchasing a custom order would be very expensive. |
