| BREAKING: McKinsey, BCG, and Bain are freezing starting salaries for a third straight year as AI reshapes the consulting model |
| Freezing starting salaries for a third straight year as their clients realized the outputs were all BS. |
This exactly. Management consulting should’ve been fazed out decades ago. The mediocre upper middle class will find some other career, but this provides nothing of quality to our society other than landing spot for hesitant, directionless elite-educated grads. |
|
It’s not exactly an AI problem. The availability of AI just makes people realize the so-called consulting has little value add.
You don’t see this happening in law. Attorneys’ work product has real values. AI makes legal work more efficient, but can’t replace the human. |
| So does no one's kids want to work for a management consulting firm anymore? |
|
this means nothing. did you know entry grads are getting paid average 150k (110k base, 30 to 60k bonus) at these firms? grossly overpaid for what they.
It would be more interesting if they froze hiring. Freezing these inflated salaries mean nothing |
| A lot of these places have frozen hiring and delayed starts for 2025 grads. |
Yup, and that AI produces better intel than a bunch of green Ivy League newbs |
If your kid is a recent hire, stay on course for the 2 year exit plan. If your kid is a college freshman, rethink career options and quick |
| What careers do you suggest instead? |
Employment counselor. |
where? MBB is still hiring |
Lol. So true. |
Wrong. BCG has been asking recent grads to start earlier because they're so overbooked. |
