| Is this a good sign? Decisions come out next week |
| Come again? |
| Sorry. Reaching out with a question on our taxes |
| That seems weird. |
| Great sign - why would they ask if they were planning to reject? |
This. |
This. If it’s hyper competitive, you could still get cut at the 11th hour but as of now, I’d say on road to likely admit. Let us know! Good luck! |
|
This seems strange. Is the school need aware? What is the question?
If need blind - which most schools are - I don’t know how they would even see info to ask a questions about taxes |
it's not strange. the financial aid people have to prepare packages for admitted students. |
| I would take it as a positive clue. |
|
Yes, it's a very positive sign. At most schools it means you're in because they don't run the aid packages on kids they are not admitting.
This was 100% true at one Ivy I was following closely last year. |
| it could also mean you're in the defer pile to be fair. I think financial aid offices try to process these things as they come in. they only dont process the rejects. |
| If it’s Brown, you’re in. There’s a ton of precedent for this going back 10+ years. |
It's the same at Dartmouth. If they call or email you with an aid question you can assume you're in. |
No. These Ivies do not run aid packages on the kids they are deferring. The only way I could see this happening is if a kid starts out in the admit pile and move to deferred at the last minute (but honestly I haven't heard or or read of this happening). 99% of the time, if they contact you regarding aid questions you're in. |
