| Seems like a dream school for my kiddo... |
| Yes. Tough admit for most. |
| Of course it does. My friend’s kid from TJ magnet got in and attends now. |
| It accepts tons of DACA, out of state, out of the country |
| It’s a tough admit. Nonresident Americans make up 13% of the student body. And you must have a 3.5 GPA compared to 3.0 for in-state residents. |
Those GPA's are MINIMUMS. If you look on the UC website you'll see the average GPA for admitted students is way higher than the minimum, with UCLA and Berkley around 4.4-4.7 weighted. |
| Yes. My DD is a freshman and all of her friends are OOS. The school is actually known for being an easier admit for full pay OOS students. |
| They accept athletes OOS |
No, it is not an easier admit, not when they are only taking about 3% of their total as OOS freshman. |
| If you go to Harvard Westlake you have a better shot of getting into Harvard than UCLA. See if you can work out an upfront transfer deal like some colleges quietly do- ie Cornell, etc. |
You’re a moron. That is all. |
California resident here. You need an UW 3.7 to even have a shot at UCLA. Those “minimums” are a just a feel good stat for residents to make them believe the UCs are for everyone. In state and especially OOS is a very difficult admit. |
