Which Polaroid-like camera

Anonymous
My 4yo wants a Polaroid or Polaroid-like camera for Christmas. There are a lot of options. Which one should I get him? I’d assume we should prioritize inexpensive or easy-to-replace film because he will be printing a million photos at once, I’m sure.

Anyone?

At that age, I'd get one with a thermal printer that prints on receipt-type paper. So they get a thrill and it isn't as expensive as standard prints. Do note many of these kids cameras have games loaded on them, though.

Or look at Fuji Instax.

Our 8yo has an Instax mini. Be forewarned the film is expensive and little hands can push buttons that take photos when you’re not meaning to. Also it can be very finicky. I recommend something made for little little ones!

Sounds like Instax Mini or Polaroid Go? Anyone else have any feedback?

My teen has the Instax mini. She loves it, but is very particular about when she uses that v. her cell phone camera because film for the Instax is not inexpensive and the cartridges are often problematic to load. I personally wouldn't give one to a 4yo who is just going to be taking a ton of random photos because that's going to get costly to keep up with.

All those instant print photos are expensive. I would not get a 4 year old any of those.

I would get the VTech Kidizoom camera for a 4 year old. And you can print from a computer if he really wants to print and then you will be able to choose not to print the random blurry ones.

My DD has an Fuji Instamax and it's fun but the photo quality is pretty low. Way worse than an iphone camera. And the film is pricey.

He already has a kid digital camera and uses it all the time but really wants one where the photo comes out the bottom.
