Thanksgiving week - virtual, in-person, off?

Anonymous
Happy Thanksgiving! Curious if your DC’s school was out of school all week, virtual school (asynch or synch), or in-person for a few days this week. Any preference as a parent?

Full disclosure: my children’s school was in-person Monday and Tuesday.

Off, it’s great for travel

A synchronous with zero exceptions. Teachers and administrators off, but kids expected to do about 6 hrs of work mon and Tues.

Off all week, which has been great for us as a family (child is in high school)

Synchronous virtual Mon and Tues, off the rest

Synchronous virtual full day Mon & Tues. I like it. Kind of a break for mom even.

In person Monday, half day Tuesday. Would prefer the full week off.

School 1, full day in-person Monday, half day in-person Tuesday, off Wed-Fri
School 2, out entire week

In person Monday and Tuesday at DC’s Catholic HS. Virtual would be nice but I think they are trying to fit in as much as possible to be ready for midterms in three weeks.

Off all week from HS.

Off all week. I love it actually.

Parent teacher conferences Monday and Tuesday, off the rest of the week. It's way better than last year when parent teacher conferences were the week before.

Which worked better?

My high schooler had virtual, synchronous school on Monday and Tuesday and was off the rest of the week. The younger two (middle and elementary) had in-person school on Monday and Tuesday and were off the rest of the week.

Out all week. I like it but only because we have local family who can take DC for a few days so they're not sitting at home while I work in office.

I would hate virtual. Just be in school or don't.
