I am not rich, I’m doing ok. But how is this:
- being thin - good skin and hair - nice but not flashy accessories (small fine jewelry, bag and shoes are leather but not branded) - inexpensive solid color clothes For the athleisure moms who always look nice somehow… |
|
Ok except that it should be “expensive” solid color clothes.Fabric and fit are important tells.
And add “perfect manners”. Look people in the eye. Never show anger or appear rushed. Express gratitude and write thank you notes. On paper. |
| These theads are always so stupid. |
| If you are not rich, you will only fool those who also aren't rich. You'll never pull the wool over the eyes of anyone who is legitimately wealthy. |
| Good posture. Well behaved kids. Ability to express meaningful opinions on many subjects. Good grammar/pronunciation. |
I dunno. I am legitimately wealthy and I can’t tell these things much of the time. |
Some on DCUM seem to think y'all are gods walking the earth and have some special aura that allows you to recognize the poors and new money lol. |
| Why do you want to cosplay being rich? Being rich is not a moral achievement. |
LOL. Just finished watching "Succession." All those billionaires were so well-bred, with the prostitutes and the affairs and the drug use. So educated and articulate. And I look around at the wealthy Trump family and those who orbit them -- so articulate, with a refined palate and way of dressing. The classy, well fitting ensembles worn by those at the most recent state dinner. So much to aspire to! Also, Roman slouched. |
+1 The formula is (1) be rich and (2) wear whatever the F you want |
My mom’s really, really rich (married my born-wealthy dad) and she has never been thin or concerned about how she dresses. |
Depends on what you mean by “rich”. I’m comfortable but not rich; I have never worn non-leather shoes; I can’t remember the last time I bought a non-leather bag, unless you are referring to something like the difference between a LV logo v epi? There are many people who are very wealthy and also very flashy. Ivanka for one. Nicola pelts-Beckham? Even Lauren Santo Domingo isn’t trying to blend in - she wears statement pieces and jewelry. |
|
How is it? It’s fine for Tik Tok “old money” aesthetic.
Not to be confused with actually looking wealthy. |
That was tv, ffs. |

The one and only no fail tell.....teeth. Bad teeth= poor. Or British.
I don't know if good teeth= rich but it does tell you the person grew up with resources. |
