Capitol Hill Day School

Any insight? We really like what we’ve seen so far and are looking for a progressive (little “p”) school. We also like GDS but the commute would be very challenging so are leaning to CHDS as our first choice.

How hard is it to get in? In pre-K? In older grades? Is there significant drop off at middle school?

CHDS is a great school. Its Middle School program is stellar. Always worth a try to apply.

Second this opinion. We have one CHDS grad and another in middle school. Great experience all the way through starting in early childhood. Wonderful, dedicated teachers. Highly recommend.

Where are they(or did they) attending High school? How was the adjustment?

I used to teach at CHDS. The best school I’ve ever taught at, hands down. The field ed program is truly amazing and the students learn so much thinking outside of the box there.

There's not a drop off in middle school at all. Their current 8th Grade class is the biggest class the school has ever had.

What exactly are you looking for in a school?
