National Leadership Student Conference?

We got the marketing materials for NLSC yesterday and some of the programs look interesting: https://www.nslcleaders.org/

Any feedback? It seems like an education focused summer camp for older kids (which is fine- not looking for some resume bump). Would love to know if it is fun, worth it, etc.... 9 days on a college campus seems like it could be a fun way to spend time in the summer.

It’s a money grab for the college.

Fine. But is it a worthwhile experience?

Generally, when someone refers to it as a “money grab,” they don’t consider it worthwhile. Read the room.

Our DS did one of their programs last summer (after freshman year of HS) and really enjoyed it. It was less than a week at Georgetown.
Absolutely got something out of it - great program from a content and experiences/activities standpoint and great opportunity to stay on college campus and get a sense of what he’s working so hard in HS for.

Parents call travel soccer a money grab all the time and I know many kids and parents who love it

Again, the ones who love it and are gung ho about it are not the ones referring to it as a money grab. Are you dense?
