Looking to buy a formal light weight dinner set. Last time I went to bed bath and beyond and bought a Corelle one and now stores are closed.
Please let me know your favorite store and material to buy. Any links? |

There are tons of settings at thrift shops and consignment shops because the younger generation just isn't interested in this and their parents/grandparents are trying to give it away.

do you know any other in northern Virginia? |
Thank you looking for a formal set with small design. OP |

Pfaltzgraff and Corelle still exist. These were staples for older generations. They are often imported. Quality may have fallen but I would still give them a look. |
For me (MoCo), the Habitat for Humanity store (ReStore), plus several of the "general household" thrift shops that have a mission to benefit animals have lots of china, glassware, and more. You never know what you will find until you go. My fav thrift shop has closed but they always had china. |

Villeroy and Boch.
Wouldn't bother with consignment shop china sets. They're abandoned because of all the metal rims that aren't suitable for dishwashers. And flowery patterns people don't care for these days. |
I second the recommendation for Villeroy and Boch. They are bone china, durable, and good looking. I have had a set from them for years with no chips. |

Pillivuyt. It is formal, microwave safe (if pick one of the white styles), sturdy, and lead-free/toxin-free.
