Maybe MTG is the canary in the coal mine. At some point - soon? - there will be too much pressure from the public to leave Trump unchecked in office.

I want to believe that's true. Truly, I do! But time and again, when push comes to shove Republicans always, always fall in line. The GOP had two chances in his first term to wash their hands of him, and the best they could do to meet the moment was Susan Collins' firm belief that he had learned his lesson and some mealymouthed soul searching from a lame duck Mitt Romney.
