I did mine a couple weeks ago and thought I was too early, but then we got this cold snap...

My experience has been that bulbs are pretty forgiving. As long as you're not trying to put them into ice-cold ground, it's probably fine.

Squirrels eat them. Sprinkle cayenne on them before you close the hole. Put cayenne on top too.
