For a variety of reasons, my senior is going to go to PG community college in the fall with the plan to transfer to UMD or Towson after a year.
Does anyone have experience doing this? Is it as easy as it sounds on the website or are there a lot of hoops to jump through. |
| I don’t think it’s hard but it’s not automatic after a year. So they would still have to apply and hope to get in. Towson is easier than UMD. |
Thanks! My kid would get into Towson now but UMD would be a reach school without a year at CC. The only way they would have a chance at UMD is if they applied without test scores. If I am reading the MTAP site correctly after 30 credits they are guaranteed entrance to UMD provided they take college level english, math and maintain a 3.0 according to the website. https://admissions.umd.edu/apply/maryland-transfer-advantage-program-faqs |
