How does it feel?

When you are going in labour? I am almost 37 wk today and woke up last night with such tummypain that I was honestly thinking this was the beginning. I was induced last time and only experience 'back' contractions so have no idea how it feels. It lasted about an hour but didn't feel like contractions. It was painful for about 5 minutes, belly got really hard and it was too painful to even sit up. Then it went away, felt hungry (?) and it came back but less painful and again, didn't feel like contractions.
I mean ... you should actually feel your uterus contract or is this not how you would describe it? Nothing happend obviously and I could fall back to sleep but was really worried.

Everyone's experience is different, but with my first I had exclusive back labor. I went in to be induced with my second only to find out that I was 4 centimeters dilated and contracting, but as I'd never had any pain in the front, I had decided it was cramps. So in any event you are looking for something consistent, my pain wasn't that regular so I hadn't really paid much opinion. I think if I'd progressed further I would have caught on!

When I went into labor, it felt like a bad stomach ache, almost like diarrhea (nice) and then it spread to my back. The feeling was not what I was expecting, so it caught me by surprise!
