| I’m so tired of my hair looking bad because it’s turned frizzy and flyaway. I also don’t have much patience for doing stuff with my hair. Do keratin treatments actually work and are they damaging to hair? |
|
I had on almost a year ago and still think my hair looks better.
I did the express treatment at Kiss Salon. |
| I have thin hair and love it but only do it for summer. |
| Reviving this. Have thick curly hair; the front sections are damaged and not really growing out. Wonder if keratin would help repair so it would grow...or will it damage it more. I hear different things. |
| I have thick, coarse hair and love Cezanne keratin treatments. They last at least 6 months for me and help reduce breakage and speed up styling time. |
| It depends what your hair is like and what type you get. I’ve heard Cezanne doesn’t work but the PP above loves it. I use a version that a lot of people think is too “heavy” as it gets rid of the curl entirely (Silk Touch). Work with someone who applies a variety of types and will know based on your hair and what effect you’re looking for what will be best. |
| After menopause, my curly hair turned frizzy. I get a Keratin now 2x per year. It helps. |
| I do this every year and it makes a huge difference |

My hair is very frizzy and flyaway. Post-menopause hair. I asked my stylist about it and she talked me out of it, saying it would damage my hair.
Following here though, there's got to be something that can be done. FWIW: Olaplex is terrible for my hair -- I asked the stylist about that and she said "Yeah, you don't want protein." |
| I'm the PP who gets a keratin treatment 2x per year. My stylist does not do it but has no problem with me doing it. My hair isn't ruined and honestly looks much better once it has been done. |
Adding I also don’t have my normal stylist do my keratin (and also go 2x/year and he has zero issue with it - said it makes my hair WAY easier to work with and he loves how it speeds up dry time too) |
Where do you go for it? |

I have to take chemo pills three weeks every month and I lost quite a bit of hair not to mention eyebrows and eyelashes.
My hair has a very slight wave to it but the chemo brought the frizziness. Horrible frizziness. I get keratin treatment and highlights and it’s greatly improved. My hair stylist does everything which makes it easier. |
