I’d heard they may have given out a few Commercial Drivers Licenses (CDLs) to undocumented aliens, but I had no idea California issued so many of these: 17,000 !
That is a lot of unqualified truckers! Now they have admitted it and will revoke the wrongly-issued CDLs. |
1. Non domiciled. WHich means they can be out of state. Not undocumented, 2. Some are past their expiration, not unqualified. 3. They have admitted nothing. They caved to pressure to keep their federal highway funding. 4. Requirements have recently changed, so there is that--in Sept of 2025 so many people who were eligible under the old rules no longer are. This is the biggest issue. 5. But keep lying and spinning and using newsmax as your source. I am sure you will be super informed and intellgient then! |

CDL holders can travel to any state and their CDL is valid. Now that's causing problems via deaths and accidents in other states.
You think a school bus driver in your municipality doesn't hold a CDL from California? Well, you may be surprised. |
No, the biggest issue is there was a requirement to read and understand the english language. California did not enforce that. You stop lying. |
You are misstating what happened. Not necessarily your fault because Newmax and Duffie are doing their best to obscure it. The CDLs in question are "Non-Domiciled CDLs". These are:
https://idscan.net/blog/non-domiciled-cdls-a-breakdown-by-state/ The important point here is that the drivers are not undocumented. They can legally reside in and work in the U.S. Moreover, California has been in compliance with the law. But, in late September, the Department of Transportation changed the rules. That rule change is on hold while it is being litigated. The US DOT is acting over a dispute concerning English language proficiency. It is truly sad that Duffy has misrepresented this issue in such a manner. We should expect more from our political leaders. At any rate, because your thread misrepresents the issue, I am going to lock it. |
