29F, 120k salary. Rent is 2500 all utilities included and my credit card bill is between 1500 and 3500 monthly. Health insurance is $100 a month and I put 15% into my 401k with a 5% match. I worry about $ 24/7 and was wondering if that’s justified? I have No debt and a 6 figure inheritance but still feel so in over my head and like I can’t go into savings.

| Hard to say without knowing your income. Sounds like you are doing pretty well. We all feel stressed about money when we are young. Just keep saving and keep earning and it will all work out. Unless the world blows up which it might, but in that case everyone will be suffering! So I don’t worry about that. |
| Oops, sorry, I see your income now. |
| What do you mean, you can’t go into savings? As in, you can’t save anything? |
| Why aren’t you saving more? |
Your credit card should be $2000 or less per month, given this crappy economy. |
| My credit card is $3500/month and we are a family of four. What are you spending money on? |
| Your CC amount screams trouble. |
| What are you charging?!?? |
Is 120k your gross salary? If so then yes sounds like you’re clearly over your head. After 15% 401K contribution that leaves 8500/month gross, so at most that leaves maybe $5000-5500 net after federal and local taxes, social security/medicare, health insurance premiums and any other deductions. Your monthly rent and credit card bill are 4000-6000 per month and that doesn’t even include any other unanticipated expenses so it sounds like you are regularly left with a deficit. |

Rent seems kind of high TBH That right there should be a whole mortgage payment...to yourself
Can you get a smaller place or a roommate? |
|
I live downtown and very close to work! Would have to get a car otherwise or have a long commute. I also work 60+ hours a week.
A lot of my friends are getting married right now so I do have a trip or two a month |
| I’ve never been able to find a roommate here unfortunately! All my friends live with their partners, alone, or at home still |
you are spending too much. start saying no to some of trips. |

What is your CC bill breakdown
