Does Le Creuset ever go on sale?

Anonymous
Would especially appreciate hearing about places to check for Black Friday sales. DD would love to start using Le Creuset — and she cooks, she would use it — but the prices for the most useful pieces are not what this Santa Claus had in mind!

They do. Check out the outlet at national Harbor.

There are outlets that you can find the discontinued colours, but also check out tjmaxx and marshalls, they have them sometimes.

Thanks

I've seen them as tj maxx occasionally as well. They also have the Lodge ones. I have an unenameled regular Lodge Dutch oven that's great. I don't know about the enameled ones.

Is Lodge made in the US?

Last year they had a big sale at the Dulles Expo center. Since that's closing soon, it's doubtful they will have it again, but maybe it will pop up at another venue.

Just googled; it appears to be made in Tennessee. It’s handsome stuff; I saw it in a Home Sense store for the first time.

I would enjoy an expo-level Le Creuset sale very much!

Go to thrift stores in expensive neighborhoods.

I have an 8 quart LC Dutch oven that I use pretty much once a week for half the year. Yesterday I made a massive batch of Lentil Stew. The week before a made a Beef and Mushroom barley stew.

We have three teenagers and they mow through food.

The Leesburg Outlet stores used to have one—still pricey, just get one thing per holiday

I see them at Marshalls or TJ Maxx sometimes (previous seasons colors, or with a small defect like a scratch). But if she is a real cook, she'll use it all the time. I use my 5 quart Le Creuset dutch oven at least weekly for the past 15 years and it still looks beautiful. Yeah it was expensive, but so are 2 pairs of nice brand jeans that will be out of style in 3 years and I bet she has at least 2 pairs of jeans.

If you're patient....my sister stalked TJ Maxx and eventually put together a whole set (7 or 8 pieces--saucepans, skillets, dutch oven) in the same color. Took her years. One piece chipped and Le Creuset honored the lifetime warranty and sent her a brand new replacement piece.

Most but not all of their lines. The enameled lines are made in China And some accessories too.
