Article details 2015 FOIA memo from FCPS (so after original court case/settlement):

“The Fairfax County Public Schools memo was written in 2015 and alleged Lanigan inappropriately touched and made sexual comments to some students. “The most egregious and jarring allegation involved Mr. Lanigan running his finger up the inner thigh of a 15-year-old female student,” the memo said. Lanigan denied the accusation, but another student and a colleague of Lanigan’s witnessed the incident, according to the memo (Recommendation for Dismissal and Revocation of Postgraduate Professional License for Sean Lanigan).

The memo said Lanigan also was observed by colleagues “holding hands with female students, providing unnecessary physical guidance [grabbing arms, putting an arm around them, leading them away for no obvious reason, hugging a student and tripping a student.]” The memo also said, “Students reported Mr. Lanigan as referring to a female student as his girlfriend, discussing female body parts with male students and engaging in a conversation with a female student about a vibrator.” Lanigan denied the accusations, but other staff and students confirmed witnessing the incidents, according to the memo.”

Lanigan was found not guilty of these charges.

It was a huge blight for FCPS when he went on the Today Show trying to get his job back after FCPS blackballed him after the not guilty verdict. In 2017 they placed him at south lakes and assigned Chad Lehman as his assistant principal. For those who know that name it is because chad lehman was the principal at centreville hs during recent abortion scandal. Chad is now at gatehouse as an executive principal. Chad is through and through a company man (which is why he moved up the fcps ranks so fast) and was rewarded to getting rid of Lanigan. What is not included in that article is that FCPS paid him (I have heard it was over 7 figures) to leave the classroom and retire early.

Lanigan has worked 1000s of kids before and after these untrue allegations and there have not been any other occurrences (because he never did what they accused him of).

Instead of posting 8 year old allegations that have been repeatably debunked, why don't you let the man move on with his life? Is that cool Becca?

The not guilty was for elementary school court case. The 2017 article is for incidents after that and for which charges not brought, which does not = guilty or not guilty. So if the 2017 article doesn't = guilty of not and we know that FCPS had an ax to grind, and there has not been any other accusations outside of this one incident, then why are we dragging this mans name through the mud in 2025? Again the article is from 2017. It's jsut a weird vendetta going on here.
