Can I, as a straight person wear rainbow blundstones?

Anonymous
I like the bit of colour and they were a great deal. I love blundstones and these are my second pair. Would it be weird or offensive to wear if I’m not gay? I have two bi//gay/questioning teens so didn’t think anything of it when I bought them. But someone made a comment and now I’m wondering.

You can do anything you want to, love. Don't worry about what other people think.

I feel no need to abandon rainbow just because gays like it. Its still beautiful and belongs to every living creature to enjoy.

Of course! Rainbows are for everyone.

I don’t generally care what people think about what I wear, but you know how a comment from someone close to you can make you second guess yourself (comment did not come from my DCs, in case you were wondering).

So thank you for the positive response!

No. I think if you try this the gays will come to your house and kill you at night. (They throw glitter on you until you suffocate in your sleep.)

You can wear rainbows. I promise. I still love them, too. The only people that might be weirdly offended are Trumpers.

My favorite outfit when I was about 7 or 8: white sneakers with rainbow shoelaces, jeans with an elastic rainbow belt, a white turtleneck covered in mini rainbows, and rainbow barrettes in my hair. And, of course, my rainbow Trapper Keeper. It was a beautiful time. 🌈 forever!! They make me happy. I’m glad you like them. too

What type of comment did you receive?

Rainbows are a Christian/Jewish Biblical covenent that has been coopted in recent years.

Wear what you want OP.

It is super silly to think the lbgtq crowd has a monopoly on rainbows.

This. The LGBTQ+ community does not own rainbows. Rainbows are for all.

It's possible people will assume you are LGBT if you wear them, but if you don't care about that, have at it.

I'm straight but I have Pride merch because I go to events and show support for my sibling.
