For those of you whose kids applied to UVa: our DC submitted two teacher recs through Common App, but on the UVa Portal, it lists Teacher Recommendation just once. But on Common App, both recommendations are marked as having been downloaded by UVa.
Wondering if both recommendations were downloaded together and counted as 1 on the UVa portal? I know one recommendation is required and 1 optional, but we would like to have both considered. My DC's other EA school's portal lists two teacher recommendations as having been downloaded. |

| It’s because only one is required. You have fulfilled the requirement so there is a check. They only want one teacher recommendation and the counselor letter. |

| Ok that makes sense, but which one will they read? Or will they read both? There was no way to mark which one was the required one and which one is the optional one. |

| If they allow one optional, they’ll read both. The portal just tracks requirements, so it doesn’t include the optional one. |
