Infertility Support and Discussion
I've observed that nearing my supposed fertile period, it starts to feel a bit itchy down there. Not unbearably, but there are some different sensations than seem to be there at other times of the month. Does anyone else have this, too?
At that time you should have clear stretchy cervical mucus, and your hormones usually makes sex more desirable.
Yes, thanks PP ... I have observed that, though coincidentally there is this slight itchy feeling at times. I'm sure it's no surprise, then, that those sensations (at least in my case) are all expected/related at that time of month ...

It's not surprising OP. It could be an isolated mild yeast infection, maybe vaginitis, or something along those lines. Your body changes throughout the ovulation/menstration cycle. During ovulation, the secretions/pH/BBT all shift which can create a cozy environment for yeast or other bacteria to grow a little more and create some minor itching. Your body can usually resolve this as the cycle progresses to the non-ovulatory phase (the "2ww").
For me, my ovulation "sign" are zits. I always have a small break out around my chin. I don't even bother with OPKs. I just need to look in the mirror and use my chart to know when I'm ovulating.
