https://www.amazon.science/news/amazon-launches-68-million-ai-phd-fellowship-program
Amazon is announcing its new AI PhD Fellowship program, which will provide two years of funding for more than 100 PhD students at nine universities who are pursuing research on core AI disciplines such as machine learning, computer vision, and natural-language processing. These are the best AI schools in the country: MIT Stanford CMU UCB UIUC UT UCLA UW JHU |
I don't understand how you are coming to that conclusion. Amazon is certainly not the leader in developing AI, so how do you arrive at the conclusion because Amazon is partnering with these schools. These schools were existing Amazon partners on other initiatives, and I am sure have excellent programs...but all the big tech companies have PhD fellowship programs and have a much wider list of schools. |
| Look at Cal Poly SLO. And see this recent article: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/26/technology/cal-state-ai-amazon-openai.html |

Bowdoin received a $50M donation last year to develop interdisciplinary AI curricula. Supports current faculty, hires new faculty, supports student research, etc.

PhD...Thats a lot of schooling for the typical CS major! |
|
Sorry - here's the main page for Bowdoin.

| Amazon fires many. Don’t count on the following through. |
| Look at the Alma maters of people at OpenAI, Deepmind, Anthropic, etc. |
| JHU and UCLA? You’re kidding. |
Bowdoin is a non consequential school that does nothing for the AI space. |
| Stanford, MIT, Berkeley, and CMU. That’s really all that you need to understand who is developing the AI space. |
As always...everyone can only think in terms of the US. University of Toronto essentially created what everyone considers AI. Professor there is considered the father of AI and started Google Brain and the lead scientist who created the LLM that was the basis of Open AI (and started his own company and is massively influential) graduated from Toronto. |
| I am so sick of hearing about AI. I wish it would just implode on itself. |
Name a ground breaking result from each of these four? |
