Working at MoCo private schools (non-teacher)?

Anonymous
Tell me about working at different independent schools in MoCo (Bethesda, Potomac, Rockville, not willing to travel farther). What have you liked or disliked? I'm interested in applying at the end of this school year to start in 2026-2027, but I do frequently check this site to see if anything of interest gets posted - https://careers.nais.org/jobseekers/. I'm not sure if every independent school posts on there, but it seems to be a pretty reliable database. I know ADW has its own website, but I'm really looking to make more money than I make at MCPS. I am not a teacher. Looking to work in an office, or similar. Also open to hearing about how much subs get paid and how often you get called for sub duty. TIA

Check the AIMS website. It's for MD private schools. https://www.aimsmddc.org/networking/opening_search.asp

I teach at a private school, so I can't speak to non-teaching positions for salary. I do make less than I would in MCPS (15+ yrs of experience). But there are a lot of other benefits that make it worth it. Good retirement plan w/school matching, good insurance & other benefits, tuition remission for employee kids, lunch provided everyday. I also really enjoy my colleagues.
