So, I've been diagnosed with some ovarian cysts. I googled the topic the other day to read up on it. No big deal I thought.
Well, every day after that whenever I'm on DC Urban Moms every ad along the top and sides references Ovarian Cysts. Looking for Ovarian Cysts? Great deals on Ovarian Cysts!! Find Info on Ovarian Cysts here. We've got Ovarian Cysts!!! Now I know that marketers track browsing and tailor ads this way. But this is just ridiculous! ![]() Any insight? |
I was able to reproduce this. Exactly what you describe is happening. I am testing a new ad network called Chitika. I had hoped to give it a couple of days or maybe even a week. But, the way things are going, I may have to remove it today. I have no idea how Chitika is getting access to your Google search history. Google should be keeping that secret. This is ridiculous.

Another reader who is having that same situation. I hadn't mentioned it because I thought I was crazy, but it's everywhere. Really freaks me out that an ad company, via an anonymous web forum can track my browsing history. |
Thanks Jeff for looking into it. I'm sorry that the new ad network isn't working out. |
This happened to me, too. I deleted cookies, history and cleared cache. Now, it just has stupid things like "website" and "post". I assume it is just pulling that info from the current page. |
