| My kid's friend does cricket team. I am not familiar with this sport in DMV. Is it becoming a popular sport? And a mom tells me that her son takes lessons in golf and pickle ball. I know pickle ball gets more popular these past few years. It is said to be easier than tennis. I did not know that kids play pickle ball. I thought it is more geared towards older adults. I don't even know that Montgomery county has cricket and pickle ball program for kids until the moms tell me. |

| What area do you live in? FYI, McLean HS started a pickle ball club last year and it was crazy popular, I am sure this year will be no different, it seems to be growing in popularity for HS Kids. |
| Montgomery county public schools just finished up their second year of HS pickleball. It’s a corollary sport, meaning kids with special needs are about half of the team makeup, so a little different than the typical HS sport. My ds was on was on the team and had a great time! |
| Op here. Our kids are in ES, so they are ES aged. |
| Cricket is a very fun game once you stop thinking of it as in any way related to baseball. It has become much more popular and there are clubs in various places, including Boys/Girls Clubs, where one can learn and play. For the little kids they use a tennis ball taped to simulate the regular hardball. |
| FFS, who still plays cricket ?!?! |
| When I was in high school, we had a bowling team that the special needs kids loved. Pickle ball is a good alternative to bowling. |
The answer is a lot of countries, for the most part, ones that are or were part of the British Commonwealth. Talk to any Indian, Pakistani, West Indian, Australian or Brit and they'll tell you a lot of people "still" play cricket! |

In our previous neighborhood in the area there were a bunch of guys that looked like they were in their twenty somethings that would play cricket in the tennis courts.
And it looks like the Germantown Soccerplex has a cricket field near the intersection of Schaeffer and Burdette. And I know people that follow cricket. So there are probably people in the area that follow it and play it. They taught kids how to play Pickle Ball at my kids elementary school during PE and my kids were really into it for a while because of that. And a lot of the tennis courts in this area have pickleball lines drawn on them too and we see a lot of college aged kids playing it at those courts. And as others mentioned, in Montgomery County Public Schools Pickle Ball is a high school sport too. I think there are two sides to pickleball. The one side, which is the stereotype and why people say that pickleball is for older or nonathletic people. But there's another side where people say it's really athletic and competitive. It's probably a lot like table tennis in that regard. I saw some high schools in our area have bocce teams. So it's vey well likely there might be some schools with a cricket team or club. Although other than seeing those guys play it in our old neighborhood, can't really say that I've seen people playing it in the area. |
