Could the pending anti trust lawsuit eliminate ED for next autumn’s applications?

I know this year is safe. But what about current HS juniors and younger? Could this lawsuit wipe out ED before next fall?

Unlikely, the final outcome in litigation takes a long time, several years. Wouldn’t expect to hear anything about this case for a while.

Would be useful if this resulted in visibility into the actual benefit of ED for unhooked once you take athletes, Questbridge, legacy, donors etc. out of the equation.

I agree!! Other than the schools that are almost exclusively ED its very difficult to figure out whether there is a real boost for unhooked applicants

Agree! It makes hopping on the jet to Christmas in St. Barts truly worry free.

The kid who is wrapping presents in the mall can wait til March. It won’t kill her. No biggie.

(If the first student got in EA, I’m all for it. Have at it in December! But ED is ridiculous at this point. And I am a full pay mom.)

You think ED is unfair because you cannot afford to ED but poor folks can with financial aid. Poor folks think expensive ECs/tutoring/consulting/pay-to-play-research are unfair because poor folks cannot afford them but you can. So should expensive ECs/tutoring/consulting/pay-to-play-research be banned just like EC should, in the name of fairness?

Rich person here. We hate ED and are avoiding schools that are primarily ED. ED attracts more rich white folks. I don't want my daughter being around people who are all just like her. She is currently in an elite private school and she wants a more diverse student body. Plus ED that allows test optional attracts dumb white rich people. No thanks.
