Hi,
we received the Fall iready scores for reading and MAP scores for math for my 3'rd grade DS. Below are the scores - iReady Reading - Overall 'Early On' (Two Early On and Two Mid or Above). Percentile - 82 MAP Math - Overall 'High' Percentile - 94 We were hoping to refer my DS to AAP for this year (parent referral , did not get in last year). How good are these scores? Specifically i am concerned about the iReady Reading as PR of 82 seems low specifically as it is weighted against National norms and VA standards/his classroom standards will be much higher. Thabnks, |
| OP Here. iReady Reading - overall score is - 543. |
| My son also did not get into AAP and scored 99% for both iReady reading and the map. I think the committee expects to see 95%+ but also have heard from someone who has a friend that does reviews of applications that the acceptance varies by school. So….maybe it depends on where you are? FWIW we’re Langley pyramid |
There are no objective score cut offs. It's a completely subjective process. They also rarely take twice exceptional students. At a friend's school, it's well known that the AAP advisor only gives positive recommendations if she knows and likes the family. It also doesn't matter - by HS there is no difference in material or performance. |
| These are good scores but they care more about the HOPE rating scores that your child's teacher gives. |
| Make sure your child is well behaved, and the teacher likes them. |
| Also be prepared to get slammed in the HOPE - surprise! |
