| I traveled from Florida to DC and was pulled over twice in Brunswick County within 15 minutes of each stop. The first time I was ticketed for going 81 in a 70 mph zone on I-95 and the second time for going 76 in a 70. To say I was shocked is an understatement and there are seemingly dozens of police officers in the area just pulling people over. While I received my second spending ticket I watched 3 other people get pulled over. All of course having out of state plates. Anyone have expertise with this? Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. |
| Bump anyone? |
| Backwater ****hole counties treat it as a tax on out-of-staters, it's nothing new. Speed limit is the speed limit. |
| Speed traps are everywhere. If you can pay the fine without receiving points, just do that. I hired an attorney when I got a speeding ticket in upstate NY because it would have been points on my license. |
|
You could just go the speed limit and have no issue.
Who do you think you're going to sue for getting pulled ober while speeding? |
You know pulling someone over for those speeds when the speed limit is 70 is bs. It’s not supposed to fund the government, is basically a poor tax and specifically targeting out of state drivers hoping they do t return and just pay the ticket is illegal. |

Are you talking Brunswick, GA?
81 in a 70 seems high. Watch your speed when you go through Waldo FL and Hampton GA. |
Brunswick county VA. One the border between NC and VA. It seems they’re known for this. I hard to pass 2 other pulled over cars to pull over the second time. Normally cops won’t bother until you’re over 15 on a clear highway. |
|
You were speeding you got a ticket pay it.
You are lucky the 81/70 didn't put you in jail They do that there. |
They don’t but thanks for the fake news. |

Here's an idea: stop speeding!
I can't stop laughing at you thinking you can sue the police for ticketing you for speeding. That's the epitome of people these days, no personal responsibility at all. Everything is someone else's fault and not your own. |
It’s not about being pulled over for speeding but being targeted for being from one of state. There’s also being reasonable. Most will tell you their equipment isn’t accurate enough to detect exactly how fast you’re actually going unless it’s significantly over the speeding limit and your own speedometer isn’t accurate either. I.e why you are rarely pulled over going less than 15mph over the limit on a highway. |
| You got pulled over for 76 in 70? Interesting. They probably radio description of the cars they pulled over to each other so that if you didn’t learn your lesson you get pulled over again. Good luck trying to argue this with a judge. Why are you not using a GPS app that alerts you of speed checks? |
Wait, so you were pulled over and given a speeding ticket and then hopped right back on the road and immediately started speeding again? You are a moron. |
Um, wrong. Are you saying people don't get speeding tickets unless they are going 15+ mph over the limit? LOL! |
