| Just wondering? How high can the weighted GPA go in MCPS? |
| "Inflation Nation" |
| It must be below 5.0 at graduation because you eventually have to take a PE course which can’t be honors. |
| It's about 4.83 after required courses and HS credits for middle school honors math courses. |
| My senior has a 4.96 weighted |
| ^^ 4.96 and took PE already before senior year. All DC’s senior year classes are weighted. |
| So where does a MCPS 4.96 end up going to college? |
| And everyone’s complaining about Harvard grade inflation |
| Remember under the grading system until this year, a 89.5 for Q1 and a 79.5 for Q2 was an A. This year it will be a B. |
SERIOUSLY?? That is legitimately shocking to me. How did they justify an A under the old system?? That is some ridiculous grade inflation!!’ It really makes all these high weighted gpa’s meaningless and unimpressive. At my daughters private school a 90-93 is a A-, not even an A |
topic had been discussed countless times on here! |
| My nephew at Churchill has retaken most of his important courses over the summer for a new and better grade. Some summer classes are 2 weeks long. No record of the previous grade. It is a total scam. |
| Also most classes are labeled Hon. |
what about on transcript? Better grades perhaps but what shows up in transcript? Let's say they retook first semester of Honors Biology over summer. Honors Bio sem 1 will be listed as having been taken after Sem 2 H Bio. |
It”s funny, isn’t it? |
